LASERS & ENERGY

LASERS:

Today, laser treatments can be used to target the signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and the loss of volume and fullness, as well as get rid of unwanted hair, or even dissipate those annoying red veins around the nose or on the face. Before starting any laser treatments, I work closely with my patients to determine the best option for their skin care goals, and to ensure they understand the procedure, side effects and after-care 100%.

  • Laser Hair Removal

    • Laser hair removal is a process by which highly concentrated laser light is beamed into hair follicles, which absorb the light, and in turn, destroys the hair.  One of the most popular laser procedures, the removal of hair from the face, underarms, legs and bikini area via laser treatment is appealing because unlike shaving, tweezing, or waxing, results are virtually permanent, and redness and irritation are practically non-existent.  We use Cutera®, LightSheer® and Lumenis® lasers to safely and effectively treat all skin types.

  • Laser Vein Therapy

    • Like laser hair removal, laser vein therapy uses focused light to remove and reduce the appearance of small veins on the face, broken capillaries, and spider veins.  Beaming focused light on the vein causes the formation of scar tissue, which in turn blocks blood flow and causes the vein to die. Once the vein is no longer active, it also no longer looks as red and noticeable, leading to an improved appearance of the skin. Recovery is generally speedy, and most patients are able to return to normal activities within a day or so. In order to deliver optimized results, we use the Cutera laser.

  • Laser Resurfacing

    • Laser resurfacing treatments fall under one of two categories: ablative lasers and non-ablative lasers.  Both ablative and non-ablative resurfacing can give you dramatic improvements, but they do differ significantly in the final results they produce. The basic difference between ablative and non-ablative treatments is that ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin, while non-ablative lasers work by heating up the underlying skin tissue (without harming the surface) so that your body will produce new collagen. They can treat fine line and wrinkles, scars, sun-damaged skin, and blemishes.

Light & Energy:

Drawing on the proven medical applications and healing power of light and ultrasound technology, Light & Energy treatments are designed to deliver a wide range of wellbeing and aesthetic revitalization benefits to the entire body – not just the face. Although many people associate these treatments strictly with aging issues such as wrinkles, today’s procedures are being used to sculpt a sleek, toned, healthy body from head to toe, and for people of all ages and stages of life.

  • Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

    • Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Therapy delivers anti-aging, firming and brightening benefits to the skin via specific wavelengths of light. With this treatment, fine to moderate wrinkles and lines are minimized (some say erased), and sunspots and pigment irregularities are diminished. Additionally, IPL may help with the tightening of large pores, as well as a reduction in acne blemishes and scars. Intense Pulse Light uses multiple wavelengths of light during each session, allowing one treatment to target many different concerns of problem areas, and recovery time is brief with minimal redness.
